Tuskegee Airmen Tribute Livery
The world is in turmoil right now, and it is hard to know what to do. There is so much negativity in the world, to say it is depressing is an understatement.
I wanted to do something to show my feelings and support for a movement against injustice, but didn’t know how. I took inspiration from the #TheShowMustBePaused movement, and changed my programming.
My return to Livestreaming on Mixer was not the return I had anticipated, so instead of the usual cargo hauling in Air Hauler 2, we set about to contribute to the movement in the best way I know how, to create something.
So, live on air I worked with viewers and simmers to create a tribute livery for the Tuskegee Airmen. The Tuskegee Airmen is a loose name assigned to pilots and flight crews who served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. They were the first African American combat unit to serve on the front lines, and have been immortalized in the movie Red Tails.
During the stream we took a blank canvas, and created a livery of one of those pilots. While the real inspiration for the livery was a P-51D, this livery is for the A2A / Aircraft Factory P-51H. It is available now for download from the site.
In these troubled times, we have to unite to stop the spread of nationalism, racism and hate. Violence has no place in our streets, in our homes, in our lives. Only through working together, being kind to each other and listening to each other can we be better humans.
Safe Skies
