Description
The Eurofighter Typhoon was the result of European cooperation to produce an affordable and effective combat aircraft to fulfil the air defence mission. It has evolved into a highly effective multi-role combatant serving airforces around the world.
The second development aircraft (DA2) was operated by the Royal Air Force serialed ZH588. It was one of seven development aircraft, and while it was completed and ready for flight first, that honour went to DA1 in Germany on 27 March 1994.
The aircraft is now preserved and on display at RAF Museum London.
